FAQs
What can I expect at my first appointment?
Your injector will do a full assessment and discuss your areas of concern. Your provider then develop a personalized treatment strategy aimed at achieving your objectives over several months or even up to a year, if necessary. It’s important to note that one syringe of filler equals 1/5 of a teaspoon, which means achieving complete correction might require more than one syringe. Rest assured, we will thoroughly review the total cost of the treatment with you before any injections are administered.
Does it hurt?
Dermal filler injections can vary widely from person to person, influenced by individual pain thresholds, and the area of the face being treated. To minimize discomfort, practitioners often use dermal fillers that contain a pre-mixed local anesthetic, like lidocaine, which helps to numb the treatment area as the filler is injected. Additionally, some clinics may apply a topical numbing cream to the area before the procedure begins, further reducing potential pain.
When will I see results?
You will see results immediately, but for the best results you’ll be able to see them two weeks after any swelling and bruising has resolved.
How long does filler last?
It depends on which filler you use, where it’s injected, and the patient. On average dermal filler last between 6-12 months.
Any side effects I should know about?
You might experience swelling, bruising, and tenderness. To help reduce the swelling we recommend that you place a icepack over your lips as needed.
